To celebrate Rising Edge’s fourth anniversary, on Thursday the 8th of May 2025, two football teams from across the London insurance market battled it out at Champion Hill Stadium, home of Dulwich Hamlet FC.

Rising Edge’s home team, the Market Sharks, played in an Arsenal-like red and white kit and were managed by Hamlet defender Mark Marshall. The opposition team, the Broker Bulls, in black and green stripes were managed by Hamlet winger Luke Wanadio.

The first half saw an early goal from Market Shark, Daniel Dalton. Things quickly took a turn, however, with an unfortunate own goal from Market Shark, Tom Dickman, which levelled the score. The Broker Bulls scored a series of goals after this, from of David Crow, Ben Arnold, Chris Frain, and Charlie Ringrose.

As the 45-minute whistle blew, the Broker Bulls were up 5-1 and the teams headed into the changing rooms to talk strategy. Rumour has it that Market Shark manager, Mark Marshall, could be heard shouting at his team from outside the stadium.

But in the end the comeback was just too much, the second half scoring was 2-1 to the Sharks with goals fromwith goals from Josh Lee and Koye Adeyeye.

As the warm afternoon sunshine and size of the grass pitch took it’s toll, captain of the Broker Bulls, David Crow, scored the final goal of the game and the match drew to a close, finishing 6-3 to the Bulls.

Man of the match went to Broker Bull, Luke Farrant.

Raising funds for Mind

The 2025 Challenge Cup was a great opportunity to fund-raise on behalf of the mental health charity Mind.

We set ourselves a target to raise £5000 and with help from several of our friends across the Insurance market we healthily exceeded that total.

If you missed the chance to give on the day, our Just Giving page is still taking donations.
